Battlefield 2042 is a first-person shooter, created by DICE and distributed by Electronic Arts. It is the twelfth-main installment in the Combat zone series and was released on November 19, 2021, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Dissimilar to past games in the series, Battlefield 2042 is exclusively multiplayer and doesn't have a Single-player crusade. It highlights support for cross-stage play, a first in the series. Battlefield 2042 got blended surveys from pundits and a negative gathering from players for its specialized issues, absence of elements, and certain progressions to interactivity. The game neglected to meet the business assumptions for Electronic Expressions.

As the game is set sooner rather than later, it highlights advanced weapons and devices like deployable turrets and robots, also as vehicles that players have some control over. Players can demand a vehicle air-drop to any location. The game presented a "Or more" framework that permits players to modify their weapons on the spot. The class framework is fundamentally updated and eliminates the four characterized classes from past games; all things being equal, players can take command of an under the four customary expert Combat zone interactivity classes of Attack, Specialist, Surgeon, and Recon. These characters can use any weapons and contraptions a player has opened. Every administrator has one-of-a-kind abilities and devices. For example, one of the subject matter experts, Emma "Sundance" Rosier, is outfitted with a wingsuit, while another, Maria Falck, is furnished with a mending gun. Levolution and disastrous conditions from Battlefield 4 return in Battlefield 2042, and outrageous weather conditions impact, for example, cyclones and dust storms which might influence ongoing interaction. The game highlighted seven guides at the send-off, including 'Breakaway', the biggest guide throughout the entire existence of the War zone establishment. The game has three principal interactivity modes. "Full-scale Fighting" includes "Leap forward" and "Success", two staple methods of the series. In Success, two groups battle each other to catch control focuses; when all control focuses in an area are caught, the group controls said area. In a Forward leap, one group should attempt to catch another group's control focuses, while another group should guard them. The two modes can be played with and against simulated intelligence-controlled players. The Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S renditions support coordinates with up to 128 players, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One adaptations support up to 64 players. Without precedent for the series, Battlefield 2042 highlights support for cross-stage play with the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S renditions. While the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One adaptations likewise support the element, it is limited to just players on the two previously mentioned stages.

The second fundamental mode remembered for the game is a local area-driven stage called "Combat zone Entryway". The entrance permits players to make modified multiplayer modes and elements and select guides from past Battlefield games, for example, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Terrible Organization 2, and Battlefield 3. Furthermore, players can change center ongoing interaction components, for example, well-being, weapon loadouts, and development through an electronic prearranging application.

The third mode is a helpful multiplayer mode called "Peril Zone". In this mode, players are partitioned into groups, and they should rival each other to recover and remove information drives from the garbage of fallen satellites. These information drives are watched by adversary warriors constrained by artificial intelligence-controlled players. Players procure "dim market credits" after effectively removing an information drive. These credits can be spent on buying new weapons and overhauls in this mode.
